Where the peaks of Mangart are mirrored in the lake.
The Fusine Lakes lie just across the border in Italy, beneath the mighty north face of Mangart. The Upper and Lower lakes are surrounded by forest, and on calm days the mountains are mirrored in the water. In summer the trip can be combined with a drive up the Mangart road, the highest road in Slovenia.

June–October; the Mangart road is open only in the summer season, and autumn forest colours are stunning.
