Piran private tour

Piran is the best preserved medieval town on the Adriatic — narrow Venetian lanes, town walls looking across to Italy and Croatia, and the sea on three sides. This private tour runs at your pace.

What we see

  • Tartini Square and St George's church with its bell tower
  • The town walls with views over Trieste and Istria
  • Venetian lanes and the old fishing harbour
  • Sečovlje salt pans and the salt-making tradition
  • Fresh seafood lunch with a glass of Refošk

How the day works

Pick-up in Ljubljana, at the airport or your hotel, a drive to the coast, a guided walk through Piran, free time for a swim or a coffee by the sea, and an optional stop in Portorož or Izola. Usually 7–9 hours.

Why go with a guide

I know the hours when the lanes are quiet, the parking that works in summer, and the restaurants where the fish really comes from the sea. I also take a few photos for you along the way.

Combinations

Piran pairs nicely with the Sečovlje salt pans, Škocjan Caves, Lipica stud farm or an Istrian wine tasting.
