Slovenia in 7 days: the perfect first-time itinerary

The most common question I get: how many days do I need for Slovenia? My answer is at least seven. That way you see all the main regions and still have time for a coffee in the sun.

Days 1–2: Ljubljana and Logarska Valley

Spend the first day getting to know Ljubljana. On day two, drive to Logarska Valley and return via the Solčava Panoramic Road.

Days 3–4: Bled and Bohinj

Stay in the Gorenjska region. One day for Bled and Vintgar Gorge, another for Bohinj, Savica waterfall and Vogel.

Day 5: Kranjska Gora, Vršič and the Soča

Morning at Lake Jasna and Zelenci, then over Vršič into the Soča Valley. Stay overnight in Bovec or Kobarid.

Day 6: The Karst and Postojna

Postojna Cave, Predjama Castle and Karst prosciutto with Teran wine. The Karst is a region many travellers underestimate.

Day 7: Piran and the coast

Treat yourself to the sea on your last day. A stroll through Piran, a swim and dinner at sunset.

I tailor every itinerary to you – your pace, season and interests. Message me and I'll prepare a proposal for your week in Slovenia.
